What I’m not doing on Mother’s Day

My alma mater. It changed since then to the Patriots and I don’t know what it is now. They even changed the city name to “Lake Balboa”

The excuse back then was that the term “Braves” was offensive to Native American Indians... eee gads and we were so proud to be called The Braves!!

But why did Sally Field put her name on the auditorium (only a rumor: I haven’t been back since then) when it was named after some military dude from WWII? Weren’t we proud of that too? Our Jr High was a hospital during the war my mom said. I remember they still had the bungalows when I went there.

All right so fast forward past my School Reunions (I did purchase the memory books) and I remembered I saw there was still a baseball team named the Atlanta Braves, right? And I looked them up.

On the Atlanta Braves YouTube there was a Season type show from 2020 where this player had a dog named Gunner in the first episode. Wait, that’s my sisters’ dogs name, say what? He called it lazy anyway. Our Gunner was very smart. Nothing unnecessary.

Oh look they won the World Series in 2021!

And a Season 2 trailer for 2022.

I watched the MLB highlights through Chicago (next Texas) but I have to stop now. I even looked up tickets for a home game and thought an afternoon Mother’s Day game might be fun but no.

I still want a foam Tomahawk!

Dipsy is for the Dip

Have you ever had your nails dipped?

I joined Dipsy Dip for 99 cents. My upline at the time was attached to one of the vendor groups and she was selling airbrushed makeup in a live and said “let’s do nails” and it looked so easy! Meanwhile I was playing Bingo locally and asked a woman with pretty nails where she got them done and I questioned if Dipsy Dip was like SNS (?) and she said it was better she thought! I could even save by doing them myself!

I came from the Acrylic mail era when I was pregnant in 1993 and thought I’d go to manicuring school to be able to do nails at home while I took care of the baby. That lasted through “nail disease” in my textbook and the smells the cosmetology students had did me in morning sickness wise!

What’s in it? It’s more like what’s not in it. Our slang is “Nine Free”

Happy Easter!

I received a card from my mom with the verse:

“He is not here; He is risen, as He said” Matthew 28:0

I thought you’d appreciate the sentiment that Chris and Chad from Closet Candy Boutique sent us today:

“Just a gentle reminder that you are not your past, you are not your worst decision, you were not made to be flawless, you are forgiven, you are loved, you are important, you are worthy even on your messiest days and God will use you.

1 Peter 1:3: "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

I don’t know Amy but I do like the photo.

If you need a Bible, my favorite version is the Youngs Literal Translation
